Biomethane

To REPowerEU and decarbonise the economy, the EU has to set an ambitious, but realistic, target to produce 35 billion m2 of biomethane per year by 2030.

Ireland has a real opportunity to develop a biomethane industry at scale. Gas Networks Energy is working with Government and industry partners to deliver their own Climate Action targets by replacing approximately 10% of the country's current gas demand with Biomethane by 2030.

Watch the video using the link below, from the European Commission to learn more about how Biomethane can help reduce our carbon emissions, enhance our security of supply, and boost the rural economy.

POWERING AHEAD TO 2023

Electric vehicles (EVs) are revolutionizing the way we drive, offering a cleaner and more sustainable alternative to traditional gasoline-powered cars. At the heart of this revolution is EV charging, a critical component that ensures your vehicle is always ready to hit the road.

Provision of charge point infrastructure is key to the UK’s transition to Electric Vehicles (EVs). In just over a decade, the UK’s charging sector has grown to become a major player in the green economy, providing the infrastructure that more than a million EV drivers rely on today and scaling fast to deliver the charging that will be needed through to 2030 and beyond.

ChargeUK has written a White Paper about the big picture – the availability of charging infrastructure from a UK-wide point of view. Looking at this big picture is vital to understand how we, as a nation, are faring as we move to greener, cleaner transportation.

Pension Scheme Investment in Illiquid Assets

THE SUBJECT OF ILLIQUID INVESTMENTS BY THE UK PENSIONS SECTOR HAS HAD A HIGH PROFILE IN POLICY AND MEDIA DEBATE OVER THE LAST YEAR.

This debate has not always reflected the high level of such investing already underway by many schemes, nor the willingness of the pension sector to explore how illiquids can contribute to their investment goals.

This report sets out case studies from 10 public and private sector schemes – Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) funds, Defined Benefit (DB) schemes, Defined Contribution (DC) schemes and DC Master Trusts.

Mobilising the Impact Economy as Partners of National Renewal

FINAL REPORT OF SOCIAL IMPACT INVESTMENT ADVISORY GROUP (SIIAG)

Government’s Plan for Change sets out an ambitious agenda for a decade of national renewal. The Civil Society Covenant and Pride in Place Strategy commit to deep collaboration between government, civil society and the impact economy, and places as a means to deliver on that ambition, recognising that lasting renewal must be built with, not just for, communities. This report offers a practical roadmap for how government can put that commitment into practice – steps for creating a more strategic partnership with the impact economy to drive inclusive growth across the UK.
